Programme Characteristics This programme is producing a new breed of professionals who can use the latest enterprise management know-how and IT tools to design and run modern information-based enterprises. Students can be admitted from the Science, Commerce or Arts streams. Our teaching uses a student-centred and problem-based learning approach, and is conducted with the support of the most advanced facilities in the region, including those for studying logistics, business automation, mobile commerce and knowledge management. In addition to the normal curriculum, the Department makes every effort to secure paid summer training placements for students between the second and third years, which enables them to gain practical work experience. The nature of work during the placement is usually linked to their final year project. Furthermore, a Sandwich option is offered to students at the end of the second year of study. For those choosing this option, the Department will try to secure a paid placement in a company for one year before they complete their final year of study. The summer and Sandwich placements can either be local or overseas. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the student exchange programme with universities in North America and Europe. The usual duration of exchange is one semester. The State of the Art Facilities The Department has the
best facilities of its kind in Hong Kong. It possesses the world class
