Admission Requirements

For Entry with HKALE Qualifications:

In addition to the General Minimum Entrance Requirements, you must also satisfy the following requirements:

  • Grade E in two of the following HKALE subjects: Physics, Engineering Science, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Biology, Economics, and Business Studies;

OR

  • Grade E in one of the following HKALE subjects: Physics, Engineering Science, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Biology, Economics, and Business Studies;
            AND
  • Grade E in two of the following HKALE (AS-Level) subjects: Physics, Design & Technology, Mathematics & Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Applications, and Electronics.
    (Similar subjects at HKALE and HKALE (AS-Level) are mutually exclusive);

PLUS

  • Grade C in HKCEE Mathematics or Additional Mathematics (only required for applicants without pass in HKALE Applied Mathematics or Pure Mathematics, or in HKALE (AS-Level) Applied Mathematics or Mathematics & Statistics);
            AND
  • Grade D in HKCEE Physics or Engineering Science (only required for applicants without a pass in HKALE Physics or Engineering Science; or HKALE (AS-Level) Physics or Design & Technology).

Alternate Entry Route:

  • A Diploma (with Credit) or Higher Certificate in a relevant engineering discipline *

Such candidates should also have Grade E in 5 HKCEE subjects including both English language and Chinese Language or equivalent.

Alternate Entry Route with Credit Transfer:

Holders of a Higher Diploma or an Associate Degree in a relevant engineering discipline may be given credit transfers for all or a majority of Year One subjects.

* Relevant engineering disciplines include production and industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronic (and information) engineering.
