To further expose students to working experience in a real life environment in industry so as to provide them with the opportunity to better develop their all-roundedness, a sandwich option has been introduced into the BEng(Hons) programme in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE)

This option is available to all students studying the programme. Students who have completed Year 1 of the programme are eligible to apply for the sandwich option and work in industry after they have completed their Year 2 studies.

The students who have selected this option will begin a minimum 42-week period (approx. 11 months) of supervised work experience in industry starting in the summer after completion of their Year 2 studies. This is equivalent to three 14-week semesters. The pay received by students during the work-experience period will be subject to confirmation between the student and the partner company.
