The K*bot World Asia 2012

The K*bot World Asia 2012 was organized by Eye On International Education Association, supported by the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Technology Education Center of Capital Normal University, and the Beijing Sci-tech Education Promotional Association, Treasure House, Noah's Ark, and the IDEA Centre, Tel-aviv University, Israel. The theme of the competition was "Technology Vs Natural Disasters! Students were encouraged to think about possible and creative solutions or propositions based on aspects such as architectural design, rescue robots and developing technologies, etc. The aims of this competition were to motivate teenagers and children to study, explore, and apply technology in daily life in order to foster their creative thinking, hands-on ability and their interest in Science and Technology. Around 20 teams from Mainland China, Korea, India, Thailand, the Philippines and 60 teams from Hong Kong's primary and secondary schools participated in this competition.
