Seminar on Product Eco-design and European EuP Directive

The Green Manufacturing and Eco-design Research Group of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering organized a seminar on Product Eco-design and EuP Directive on 7 February 2012.   The seminar drew massive support from the Government, industry and a number of leading associations, which included the HKSAR Government Trade and Industry Department as the funding organization, the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association and the Hong Kong Electrical Appliances Manufacturers Association as collaborating organizations, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, and the PolyU CEO Club as supporting organisations, with Gold Best Limited as the sponsoring company.

Led by Associate Professor Winco Yung, the seminar highlighted perspectives on eco-design for products and the EuP directive which are of value to upcoming challenging developments for the local manufacturing industry. Renowned speakers include Prof. Kun-Mo Lee (Ajou University, Korea), Dr. Daniel Yip (President of Hong Kong Electrical Appliances Manufacturers Association), Stanedy Yue (Sustainability Manager of Philips Electronics Hong Kong Limited), William Ng (Assistant Technical Manager of SGS Hong Kong Limited), Evey Lan and Joe Wong (Green Manufacturing and Ecodesign Research Group of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University)
