Department of ISE plays host for a distinguished seminar on the Internet of Things (IoT)

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Computing (COMP) co-organized a distinguished seminar on the Internet of Things (IoT) with GS1 Hong Kong on 12 November 2012. 

Prof. Alex Wai, Vice President (Research & Development), and Ms. Anna Lin, Chief Executive Officer, GS1 Hong Kong, gave welcome addresses at the seminar.

The key speaker at this distinguished seminar was Prof. John Williams, Director of the MIT Auto-ID Lab, who shared his views and experiences on the Internet of Things (IoT) through his insightful talk. Dr W.H. Ip, Associate Professor of ISE, and Dr C.B. Chan, Associate Professor of COMP, also shared the award-winning RFID projects of PolyU students. Other prominent guests at the distinguished seminar included Prof. H.C. Man, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. K.C. Chan, Acting Head of ISE.
