The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and HARTING Technology Group (HARTING) dated 23 November 2012 has built a formal relationship to collaborate in the research and development of Advanced Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies and Internet of Things (IoT).
Witnessed by Dr. W. H. Ip, Associate Professor of Department of ISE, and three members from HARTING Technology Group, the MoU was signed by Mr. Philip F. W. Harting, Senior Vice President, HARTING Technology Group; and Ir Prof. K. C. Chan, Acting Head of Department of ISE, at the PolyU Microsoft Enterprise Systems Centre.
Executing the MoU signed, as the leader of the RFID Solutions Laboratory, Dr. Ip has been invited by HARTING to provide consultancy for their staff. A two-day workshop on RFID technologies with applications is then scheduled from 26 to 27 July 2013 in Zhuhai, China, Dr. Ip and the laboratory members will transfer the RFID-related knowledge to the staff.
The signing of MoU has procured further collaboration of technology transfer, research and development activities on RFID technologies and IoT applications for the two parties indeed.
