About the Conference
The International Conference on Technology Education (ICTE) in the Asia Pacific Region is a biennial event bringing together Technology Education professionals to exchange ideas and research outcomes. Known by other subject descriptors such as Design & Technology and Industrial Education, participation is open to all persons interested in Technology Education.
The first conference was held in Otsu, Japan in 1995. Successive conferences were held in Taipei, Taiwan in 1997, Canberra, Australia in 1999, Daejeon, Korea in 2001, Auckland, New Zealand in 2003, Hong Kong, China in 2006, San Antonio, USA in 2007, Taipei, Taiwan in 2009, Aichi, Japan in 2011, and Nanjing, China in 2013.
The 11th ICTE will be held on the 3rd – 5th January, 2015 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It is co-organized by the Hong Kong Technology Education Association, and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Given the impact technology has on all aspects of human development, relationships and organizational structures, the theme for the conference is "Technology Education in Shaping a Sustainable Future". ICTE2015 will allow researchers and teachers from institutes in the Asian Pacific region and all around the world to exchange ideas, address critical issues and discuss the future developments in the area of technology and education.
