Design and Development of a Knowledge Repository for a Supply Chain Integrator based on Dynamic Taxonomy, 2004-2006 (P.I.: Prof. W.B. Lee)

The aims and objectives of the project are:

To research on the industrial practices in the categorization of the knowledge;
To develop multiple patterns of dynamic taxonomies to describe and access complex and heterogeneous information and knowledge bases;
Hence, an intelligent knowledge work support system (IKWSS) is built based on multiple patterns of dynamic taxonomies.
To verify the performance of the IKWSS through the trial implementations in a selected reference site.

The IKWSS proposed in the present study will provide multiple patterns of dynamic taxonomies to describe and access complex and heterogeneous information and knowledge bases. The dynamic taxonomies will be automatically created by intelligent agents according to user’s role and searching keywords. In addition, it will provide more effective and efficient classification as well as management of the unstructured knowledge assets through the use of various artificial intelligent technologies.
