Miss Dora Y. Y. Chong

Miss Dora Chong is currently a PhD candidate and the Project Associate of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research interest includes KM Audit, organisational learning, and e-learning. She is directly involved with industrial projects such as KM audits projects in Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Limited (Dragonair) and CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP). Moreover, she is engaging in organisational learning projects at Canossa Hospital (Caritas) and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO), which aim to enhance knowledge sharing and transfer among departments. She is experienced in conducting preliminary process surveys and face-to-face in-depth interviews for KM audits.

In addition, she is responsible for the administration, development, and implementation of the HKCyberU MSc programme in KM, which is the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific. She coordinates with international KM experts and maintains excellent relationship with them. Also, she engages in the planning, design, and implement of the KM programme by using an on-line course design and delivery platform – WebCT. She focuses on the use of text, game, comic, story, exercise, and communication tool for collaborative learning and interactive e-learning.

She supervises the Knowledge Solutions Laboratory (KSL), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Microsoft Enterprise Systems Centre and directly reports to the Laboratory in-charge. She helps in maintaining a good learning and knowledge sharing environment of the Laboratory by keeping all the KM related resources and facilities up to date such as books, multimedia, videos, and computer software.

She has been active in organising KM related seminars and workshops in 2003 and 2004 such as "Experiences, Opportunities, and Challenges for Organizational Learning", "The New Generation Knowledge Management", "Leveraging Knowledge for Organization Success and Avoid Typical Problems", "Leadership in the Connected Economy", "KM Audits Workshop – Understanding your Knowledge Environment", and "SARS, Terrorism and Knowledge Management – Social Network Analysis and KM". Miss Chong is a Certified Knowledge Manager of The Knowledge and Innovation Management Professional Society (KMPro).
