Council Member of the International Society of Knowledge and System Science Fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science. Prof. W.B.Lee, is the Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Director of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Microsoft Enterprise Systems Centre (MESC). His research Interest in KM includes Knowledge Management Strategy, Knowledge Audit and Organizational Learning. Professor Lee established the Knowledge Solution Laboratory in the MESC, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, and has pioneered research and practice of KM in various industrial sectors and prestigious companies, which include Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Ltd. (Dragonair), Johnson Electric and Schick Co. Ltd. His recent projects include the design and implementation of a knowledge audit and the building of a knowledge portal for Dragonair, the first airline in the region to adopt a new business model in supply chain integration for her engineering maintenance department. He has also led a research team in the design of an on-line enterprise collaborative platform to enable companies to share and collaborate on projects on a real time basis, and the implementation of a knowledge work support system based on dynamic taxonomy for Angus Electronics Company, a project which aims to enhance knowledge sharing and productivity among her team of project and marketing engineers. Prof. Lee speaks at a number of KM events and international conferences. His research results have been published in various international journals. Professor Lee is a Council Member of the International Society of Knowledge and Systems Science. He is also the Senior Vice President of the Hong Kong Advancement of the Association of Science and Technology, President of Guongdong Hong Kong Association for the Promotion of Technology Enterprise, Vice-Chairman of the Asian Pacific Academy of Productivity Innovation and Past Chairman of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Hong Kong. He teaches on various courses in knowledge engineering and management,
technology & innovation management and manufacturing strategy.
Professor Lee and his team are actively pursuing the launching of Asia¡¦s
first MSc in Knowledge Management for launching in September 2004.
