Walter W.C. Chun

Walter W.C. Chung is Associate Professor of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is active in collaborative research with industrial companies in the dissemination of best practices to gain competitive advantage.

A recipient of the President's Awards for Achievement 1996/97: Research & Scholarly Activities, he successfully supervised research students to PhD level. He has published numerous research papers, edited special issues, books, and written case studies reports. He has been serving on the advisory boards of three internationally refereed journals and successful in securing research grants (HK$7.1 millions).

Active in consulting with business and industry, he has been the programme leader of Masters Degree in Industrial Logistics Systems since its inception in 2000. He has embedded the management succession research philosophy into the curriculum design to make the programme relevant to the dynamic business environment of the Pearl River Delta Region.

He has been Project Director of Teaching Company Scheme for a couple of companies. He together with industrial partners have been promoting in public seminars and workshops the use of systems in reference sites to support the benchmarking of mental models of executives for business process renewal to gain competitive advantage.
