Visiting Hong Kong

 

All visitors should hold a valid passport endorsed where necessary for Hong Kong. Visitors from most countries can enter Hong Kong without a visa for periods varying from seven days to six months. For further information, please visit the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

During July, the temperature is hot (about 29°C - 33°C)
and humid (the humidity is 90% or above).
   
Currency:

The unit of currency is the Hong Kong dollar (HK$).
Notes issued by three large banks in Hong Kong have denominations of $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1000. There are coins for $10, $5, $2, $1, 50 cents, 20 cents, and 10 cents.

Most foreign currencies and traveller's cheques are easily changed in Hong Kong, either at banks, hotels or moneychangers (please check carefully the amount of money before you leave the exchange counter). Octopus Card are welcomed in Hong Kong. Octopus is a smart card which you can store money in the card for any purchase or travel almost anywhere in Hong Kong.
